Madeline & Brad married at Wavering Place in South Carolina; their wedding was recently featured in Martha Stewart Weddings.

Excerpt from Martha Stewart: ‘It’s not often that a wedding beautifully masters multiple themes, but when one does, it’s especially captivating. That was the case for Madeline and Brad’s fall celebration. The black-tie event was undeniably formal but didn’t shy away from rustic touches, including country motifs. “We would have to describe our wedding as a sophisticated southern affair with the understated elegance of autumn,” the bride shares. We would have to agree.

“We wanted to show our friends and family how much they mean to us by having the very best food, drinks, and entertainment along with an atmosphere that was elegant and dreamy at the same time,” Madeline explains. Shortly after getting engaged, the couple asked Meagan Warren to help them achieve their vision. Together, they planned a timeless event that centered around nature and tradition. The former inspired their rich color palette; the latter inspired their many meaningful touches. The romantic celebration was held at Wavering Place plantation in Eastover, South Carolina, located just 30 minutes from their Columbia home. Despite hosting 125 guests, the event felt surprisingly intimate.

“My most memorable moment was our first look. I can’t remember when I’ve been that nervous and excited to see Madeline,” Brad shared. “The sun was perfect, shining through the oak trees while I waited for her. When she was walking up behind me, before I turned around, her dress sounded like a ship’s sail coming in. When I turned around, I saw Madeline looking as beautiful as I had ever seen her. It was really a great memory!” His bride agrees. “It was such a special and personal moment for us to share with each other! I will never forget the way Brad looked at me the first time he saw me.”‘

It was such an honor to photograph this classic & elegant Charleston wedding. From the Bride: “I met Christopher when I was 9 years old. He sat behind me in Ms. Thompson’s Fourth Grade class. Chris has little memory of me from this time but I remember him as the boy who said volcanoes were going to explode and destroy the earth. Needless to say I wasn’t overly fond of him. Ironically enough, when I moved back to South Carolina at 15, he again sat behind me in class. This time, he left a better impression on me and we’ve have been pretty inseparable since.

Chris and I have very different styles and made sure both were represented on our wedding day, feeling the best way to do so was to show our individual styles through the details of the day. Chris wanted the day to be traditional and timeless and I wanted to make sure it had an air of romance and magic. I think you can see both of those in Chris’ black tux and my tulle dress. My favorite combination of the two were the garland lights hanging from the trees over the black and white dance floor. When the day finally arrived I couldn’t help but feel anything but an overwhelming sense of peace. I expected my heart to be pounding as I walked down the isle but it was steady; Marrying Chris was the most natural thing I’ve ever done and nothing could or ever will feel more right.”

More than pretty flowers or a perfect place setting, Lauren and Jeremy wanted their Pippin Hill wedding to focus on what matters most. Lauren: “Our goal was for everyone at our Pippin Hill wedding to sense the love we have for each other…we wanted it to feel like us, but in a way that honored our family and friends and their never-ending support. Virginia is our home. When Jeremy decided to go back to school full-time and get his MBA he chose Darden, at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. While Jeremy lived in Charlottesville, I stayed in Washington, D.C. and came to visit him on the weekends.

We spent so much time with friends wine tasting at Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards. After Jeremy proposed in December 2014 while we were on vacation in Turks and Caicos, we immediately knew we wanted to get married at Pippin Hill! We wanted our wedding to honor us as a couple, as well as celebrate our future.

Pippin Hill is nestled in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and is only about 15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. Pippin Hill truly displays how beautiful the state of Virginia is. The grounds and vineyards provide an agrarian feel, while the private Granary room has a rustic charm of an old barn. We loved that Pippin Hill would not feel overwhelmingly rural, but that it would encompass romance, elegance and a timeless style.

Our wonderful photographers, Michael and Carina of Michael and Carina Photography captured so many moments that we have relived again and again; including when we first we saw each other in the vineyard, my father walking me down the aisle, and the insane dance party that ensued after dinner, care of our 7-piece band, DC Fusion. DC Fusion was amazing and completely set the vibe for the rest of the night. Everyone danced all night long! Since the weather was so perfect many of our guests enjoyed Pippin Hill’s outdoor veranda for cocktails and Cuban cigars. Our wedding day at Pippin Hill could not have been a more perfect way to begin this new phase of our lives together. We were beyond fortunate to have met the BEST vendors in the business, and be supported by our loving family and friends in the process. They are truly who made the day as beautiful as it was for us. We feel so fortunate that we have such an incredible day to reflect on, as we take on this new endeavor that is marriage!”

Elegance and sensuality are not mutually exclusive. Boudoir photography, at its best, is as emotional as it is sensual. Natural light perfectly compliments this atmosphere of quiet intimacy. Romance is found in simplicity; the hands, the eyes, and subtle movements.

Taking the step to be photographed in an intimate setting, though empowering, first requires the confidence to allow yourself to be vulnerable, and as much as sensuality is a part of the human experience to be embraced, vulnerability is too. Accepting and embracing our own vulnerability is what inspires confidence.

then ever only with you."
